Privacy notice
How Local Scot Digital uses personal data on this website and in the service we provide to mosques.
Last updated 4 October 2026
1.Who we are
Local Scot Digital provides websites, apps, TV prayer screens and administration tools to mosques and Islamic centres in the UK. For the information in our own marketing site, demo bookings, contact messages and customer accounts, Local Scot Digital is the data controller. For the information each mosque collects through its own website, app, donation and funeral-scheme forms, the mosque is the data controller and Local Scot Digital processes it on the mosque’s behalf (see our Data Processing Terms).
2.What we collect
When you book a demo or contact us: your name, email address, phone number if you give it, your mosque’s name and town, and your message. When you sign in to manage a mosque: your name, email address and a record of your sign-ins. Our public pages record anonymous visit counts that do not identify you.
3.Why we use it
To reply to you and arrange a demo (our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries, or steps you ask us to take before a contract); to provide the service to mosques that sign up (contract); and to keep the service secure (legitimate interest). We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for advertising.
4.Who we share it with
Service providers that host and run Local Scot Digital for us, such as our hosting, database and email-delivery providers, under contracts that require them to protect it. Some providers may process data outside the UK; where they do, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement.
5.How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to a customer relationship are deleted within 24 months. Account information is kept while the mosque uses Local Scot Digital and for up to 6 years afterwards for legal and accounting purposes.
6.Cookies
We use only the storage the site needs to work, such as keeping you signed in and remembering a TV screen’s pairing. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
7.Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to our use of it or ask us to restrict it. Use the contact page and we will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with our answer you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
8.Mosque members and donors
If you gave your details to a mosque (for example a donation, a Gift Aid declaration or a funeral-scheme sign-up), please contact that mosque first. It decides how your data is used, and we help it respond.
